There's no easy way to say this...
After nine years of growing and blooming with our lovely customers,
we've decided it's time for us to hang up our secateurs and hoses, and retire.
So, the nursery is now temporarily closed.
We've loved helping you build your gardens, sharing planting tips
and being a part of your gardening life.
It goes without saying that it will be sad to say goodbye.
But knowing how much you love your nursery, we are still hoping
to find someone who will take it on and continue what we have started.
So if you know anyone who fancies the outdoor life, let us know!
Whether you've been with us since day one,
or just discovered us recently, thank you for your support,
your custom and your love of our plants.

Good to know...
Our nursery is totally outdoors. We have a large site with plenty of parking inside and space for you to wander around,
Dogs are welcome at the nursery.
All we ask is that they keep their owners on a lead!
We take both card and cash. Contactless card payment is easiest, but you can use whatever's best for you.
A bit about us...
After thirty years as soft Southerners, we decided to leave the wilds of Hampshire to indulge our passion for plants and all things horticultural at Millthorpe Nursery.
With two daughters who were then living in and around York, the move 'up North' seemed inevitable. So when the opportunity to run Millthorpe Nursery came up we just jumped at it!
Not that we'd ever run a nursery before. But if you don't try you'll never know and so here we are - nine years on - an ex-gardener and ex-primary school teacher, making it up as we go along and giving it our best shot in the beautiful Derbyshire countryside!
We are a growing nursery so you'll often find us watering, potting on or seed sowing whatever the time of year. A composty handshake is always on offer!
